چکیده
To evaluate the influence of pretreatments on microtensile bond strength (μTBS) to eroded dentin when using a universal adhesive in self-etch mode. Forty-eight human molars were randomly assigned six groups (G1–G6, n = 8) and ground down until exposure. G2–G6 with citric acid (pH 2.6) for 10 × 2 min (within 12 h) 5 consecutive days. G1 G2 served as uneroded controls not pretreated. G3 G4 pretreated 60 s NaOCl (10% 5%, respectively). G5 was airborne-particle abraded Al2O3 15 s, G6 roughened diamond bur. The Scotchbond Universal applied After composite build-up, μTBS determined. Control group (uneroded) showed higher than (eroded). (mean MPa ±SD) (airborne-particle abrasion; 11.6 ± 4.6) (bur-roughening; 11.0 3.3) did differ significantly from (12.4 4.2). Significantly compared all other observed (NaOCl 10%; 17.6 7.6). Pretreatment 5% (G4) achieved lower (3.5 groups, except (8.8 2.0). 10% NaOCl, bur roughening or abrasion can increase tested dentine. Pre-treatment is recommended.

Influence of Different Pretreatments on the Microtensile Bond Strength to Eroded Dentin.
PURPOSE To evaluate the influence of different pretreatments on the microtensile bond strength (µTBS) of an etch-and-rinse adhesive to eroded dentin. MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty-six human teeth were ground down to their dentin layer and randomly divided into six groups (G1-G6; n = 6), G1 being the control group. Only in the test groups (G2-G6) were samples subjected to erosion using citric a...
متن کاملSodium fluoride addition to a two-step etch-and-rinse adhesive system: effect on dentin microtensile bond strength and durability
Introduction: Studies have suggested that sodium fluoride (NaF) has an inhibitory effect on the activity of endogenous matrix metalloproteinase enzymes. This study assessed the effect of a fluoride-containing adhesive on microtensile bond strength (µTBS) over time. Material & Methods: In this experimental study, 36 extracted third molars were used to evaluate the µTBS of...
متن کاملInfluence of Air Abrasion and Sonic Technique on Microtensile Bond Strength of One-Step Self-Etch Adhesive on Human Dentin
The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the microtensile bond strength of one-step self-etch adhesive to human dentin surface modified with air abrasion and sonic technique and to assess the morphological characteristics of the pretreated dentin surface. The occlusal enamel was removed to obtain a flat dentin surface for thirty-six human molar teeth. The teeth were randomly divided i...

Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the microtensile bond strength (μ TBS) of four total-etch adhesives [Excite (EB), Prime & Bond NT (PBNT), Single Bond (SB), and One Coat Bond (OCB)] by comparing them to five self-etching adhesives (Clearfil SE Bond (CSEB), Xeno III (X III), Prompt L-Pop (PLP), AQ Bond (AQB), and Tyrian/One Step plus (TOSP)] at different dentinal areas. In ad...
متن کاملInfluence of moisture conditions on dentin bond strength of single-step self-etch adhesive systems.
This study was conducted to clarify the influence of dentin surface moisture on bond strength of single-step self-etch adhesive systems. The adhesive systems used were Adper Prompt L-Pop (AP), Clearfil tri-S Bond (CT), Fluoro Bond Shake One (FB), G-Bond (GB), and One-Up Bond F Plus (OF). Bovine mandibular incisors were wet-ground with #600 SiC to expose the labial dentin. After rinsing with tap...
